Ooh la la! Our Valentine’s Preorder is now live Ooh la la! Our Valentine’s Preorder is now live on our site. Preorders are available for pick up on Valentine’s Day, February 14 from 8AM - 10AM. 

• This year’s preorder features a pastry box, a bento cake in one of our signature flavors, mini cinnis and a classic sourdough with romantic flair. 

• In addition to our sweet treats, Bites & Board is offering a chocolate-covered strawberry box, a charcuterie board for two as well as a Valentine’s compound butter flight. 

• We’ve also partnered with @flirty_gardens for the first time to offer a mini flower bouquet as an add-on to any item. You know, just to show you love your special someone once and “flor-al”. 😉 (Don’t mind us. We never shy away from a good pun!) 

Pre-orders closed next Sunday 2/9. Visit the link in our bio and click on the Valentine’s banner to place your order. We’ll be open on Valentine’s Day for preorder pickup as well as full menu for those who need to scoop up something scrumptious. ✨💌✨

The rolls and the pies would soon be packaged with care. In hopes that folks would soon visit them there.✨ 

We’re getting ready for you with all kinds of scrumptiousness this morning! The bakeshop is open from 10am-1pm. Pick up your preorders anytime during that timeframe. 

We’ll have a full counter of pastries + bread on a first-come, first-served basis as well as few sets of extra rolls and pies for those who need one last minute. 

We’ll also have smaller versions of our cookies today for anyone wanting an assorted cookie box. Be sure to check out our retail area for last-minute stocking stuffer options too!

• Visit our website + click “ORDER HERE” under the Christmas Preorder banner. 🎄 

• Preorders close next week on Monday 12/16 OR when items are marked sold out. 

• You will receive an order confirmation email after checkout. 

• All preorder pickups will be for TUESDAY 12/24 (Christmas Eve) between 10am-1pm. 

• Pastries + cookies will be available that day on a first-come, first-served basis (not available for preorder). Craft your own cookie box as we will have quite the assortment of cookies to choose from. 🍪 

• NEW to this preorder is the option to add a Bites & Board sweet or savory butter flight!! Brooke is whipping up exclusive Christmas flavors, and it’s the best way to level up your bread. (You can select this as an add-on with your choice of bread or as a stand-alone item.)

Christmas, and the bakeshop is decorated with holiday cheer!🎄 Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, we’re ushering in a full menu of Christmas flavors this weekend that will be here through December. 

We’re back to our regular winter business hours this week, opening Friday at 7am + Saturday at 8am. Don’t forget all the festivities happening in Chetek this weekend too!👇

• The Annual Christmas for Kids Auction hosted by The Lions Club will be held at Gilligan’s on Friday 12/6 at 6pm. 

• The 5th Annual Christmas in the Courtyard is happening just down the block at @hopeandanchorcoffee starting at 4pm. (Stay tuned for more details from us on this event!)

• Family Fun Day is happening from 2:30-7:30pm on Saturday 12/7. Sleigh rides, kids’ corner shopping, Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30pm and the Christmas Parade of Lights at 6pm.

What’s happening in the bakery?! (Pt. 4!) • What’s happening in the bakery?! (Pt. 4!) 

• Construction is wrapping up! The deck oven is finally in place after having one door frame removed/replaced and another one widened, and major floor repair is done. We’re down to the last few panels, trim and odds/ends. 

• The pastry counter received its final touch - a two-foot tall glass shield that’s going to highlight those flaky cruffin + puff-tart layers oh so beautifully. 👌

• Our retail space is being stocked, and our coolers are being filled. We have some incredible local goods that will be sold alongside what we make, and we’ll share more about those artisans soon! 

• Important details are under way like setting up our POS system, finalizing signage and honing in the best workflow in the kitchen. (Fun fact: Our menu board is a repurposed panel from the original bakery oven!)

• We wrapped up our final health inspection, and our permit to operate will be released within a week. We also accepted our first food truck deliveries. 🚚 This means we can officially start baking for you all! 

A super soft opening is right around the corner with a grand opening to be announced very soon. We’re not giving out a date yet as we need a few more items wrapped up, but soon, friends, very soon!!

• Wall paneling is halfway finished, and plumbing is well underway. High-temp dishwasher + 4-comp sink are first up, to be followed by items like an additional hand washing sink and water lines for equipment. 

• Equipment deliveries are rolling right in (literally!) - merchandise coolers, proofing cabinet and a super special, super premium ice cream maker especially for @kurschnerssuperpremiumicecream (which I will let him tell you more about!). 

• The retail product cabinetry + shelving is in progress (which will feature several local Wisconsin food artisans). Front-of-house is down to the details.👌

• We’re starting to set up shop! Cleaning continues, and a few pieces have received their final scrub. There are SO many boxes arriving and being unpackaged.  Everything is finding its new home 🏡.

• Second pre-inspection is wrapped up, and final inspection is around the corner. ✅ Our first bulk flour delivery from @heartlandcraftgrains arrived also! 

We are oh so hopeful for a very soft opening later August and a grand opening to be scheduled early September. As always, stay tuned for specific dates and scrumptious details to come!

• Renovations, like baking, are equal parts the work itself and CLEANING which we have been doing plenty of (with plenty more to go)! 

• The heart of the operation was delivered - a mini deck oven. At 2800 pounds, it’s a stretch to call it “mini”, but in the realm of deck ovens, it’s actually small. The best part is that it will double our current baking capacity. Can anyone say “fresh bread”?! 

• Painting is nearly finished, and front-of-house details are coming together (including a dreamy slat wall that looks 👌). Electrical work will be wrapping up in the next week or so also.

• Floor repair has started. Plumbing and wall repair are next to get rolling. Then it’s details, inspections and setting up shop! 

Now for the question that everyone wants to know. When will we open?! I still can’t give a hard date, but early August is a very probable timeframe. 🤞

Renovations are moving right along, and here are the highlights! 

• Demo and drywall are finished, and electrical is well underway. Front-of-house fixture and wall builds are nearly finished, and equipment is arriving. 

• Behind-the-scenes details are in progress including supplier relationships, inventory management, production schedules, interviewing/hiring, website and branding updates and so much more…

• Upcoming is floor and wall repair, plumbing, painting, lighting install, and additional equipment moving and setup. 

We’re working hard to get the these doors open, and, more importantly, get all the scrumptious breads + pastries (and @kurschnerssuperpremiumicecream ) in your hands very soon!
