Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and I, for one, happen to love finding unique gifts for my Mom. There’s one thing I know she loves and that’s spending time in the kitchen. She’s an avid bread maker, baker and always eager to show what she’s made for my latest weekend baking prompt. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite kitchen items that I think would make a thoughtful touch to any mom’s kitchen.

LEFT COLUMN (TOP TO BOTTOM):

  • IceMilk Aprons – I’ve long admired these beautiful heirloom aprons. While I have a stash of aprons I love and adore, I hope to add this one to my collection soon.
  • Sister Pie Cookbook – My husband bought me this cookbook, and I couldn’t love it more. It has amazing recipes for several different kinds of pie crusts and unique fillings. The butter pie crust is now my go-to for any pie, galette or tart.
  • Turkish Hammered Copper Stovetop Coffeepot – This coffeepot is for stovetop use, and I’ve heard it’s also excellent for hot chocolate. We have one that I need to do a bit more experimenting with, but I just love how these look.
  • French Press – If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I’m all about my coffee, and our French press is a frequent go-to. Check out the other beautiful styles here, here and here.

MIDDLE COLUMN (TOP TO BOTTOM):

  • Römertopf Clay Baking Pot – I scooped up one of these at an estate sale earlier this year, and it’s so beautiful. In all honesty, I have yet to use it as my kitchen has been in disarray with our renovation, but I’m excited to try some new recipes soon, especially some artisan breads! It’s great for both breads and meat.
  • Bench Scraper – This is one item that not everyone has in their kitchen, but it will make a world of difference. So useful for so many things! Pair it with this fluted pastry cutter and pastry brush for a Mother’s Day mini pie-making gift.
  • Bundt Pan – A bundt pan is a pretty common baking essential to have on hand, but there are some beautiful ones out there that just take a normal bundt to the next level. This one does for sure. I also love this one and this one.

RIGHT COLUMN (TOP TO BOTTOM):

  • Chemex – A Chemex is a must-have for the serious coffee lover. Between a French press and a Chemex, I hardly use anything else to make my coffee. A Chemex comes in a variety of sizes. I have a 6-cup, but a 3-cup is also a popular option.
  • Variable Temperature Electric Kettle – I never knew how much I loved to heat up water until we bought an electric kettle! These will have boiling water ready in a matter of 2-3 minutes at whatever temperature you choose. This is such a useful Mother’s Day gift for the mom who loves coffee and tea. Two others I like are this one and this one.
  • Embossed Patterned Rolling Pin – While I have yet to add a patterned rolling pin to my collection, I think they are such a beautiful edition to any mom’s kitchen. I love these two patterns as well – honeycomb and birds/flowers – Etsy has many other beautiful options too!
  • The Fundamental Techniques of Classic Pastry Arts – I recently purchased this cookbook, and I can’t wait to dive into the recipes. It was written by the French Culinary Institute and contains a wealth of information on tips and techniques for the serious baker.

One of my favorite gifts is putting together a “basket” of sorts with various items I think she’d love. If your mom loves coffee, you could gift her a variety of coffees, a French press and a beautiful mug. Or if she loves to make bread, perhaps a bread-making cookbook, a clay baking pot and Brotform/liner basket. Whatever you gift your mom this Mother’s Day, she’s sure to know she’s loved, unique and special.
