Five Edible Ways to Make the Most of Lilac Season

After seeing all the gorgeous lilacs gracing the feeds of photographers across Instagram the past couple weeks, it left me longing for my lilac bush to continue blooming! Here in the midwest, it tends to get warm quite quickly, and my lilacs bloomed in April for about 2 weeks total. It didn’t feel nearly long enough to enjoy their beauty, but I set out this year to make the most of their floral goodness.

Despite their short lifespan, I had a few edible recipes in mind I wanted to make sure I tried this year. Since venturing into this food photography space, I’m amazed at what I’ve learned about ingredients and how rich and versatile so many of those ingredients can be! Lilacs are no exception. There are so many ways to enjoy them, and I’m sharing a five of those ways here.
