Cheers to Friday! – 4/24/20
Welcome to my new weekly blog post! I was inspired to start my own Friday roundup after realizing just how much I enjoy the ones by The Grit & Polish and Chris Loves Julia. It’s rare they post something I don’t want to click through and read about. While I’m not a home/DIY blogger, there’s plenty of interesting articles and fun facts I come across that I’d love to share with you.
This will be a take-it-or-leave-it type format, meaning you might find several things interesting or simply none at all. It’s also an opportunity for me to share more non-baking related interests. I’d love to know what you find interesting each week so leave a comment if you find yourself checking out a link, mmkay?
- We’re ready to wrap up our kitchen renovation. We’re cost comparing whether to go the Ikea route and buy all new cabinets or have inset cabinet built (my preference). This kitchen and this one are the base for our cabinet inspiration.
- Did you see Joanna Gaines’ live tour of the new Gristmill kitchen where she’ll be filming her cooking show? If not, you should. So gorgeous. (P.S. I’ve secretly wanted to have my own cooking show since I was little. *sigh* Someday, who knows!)
- Our lilacs are in bloom! Check out these 5 edible ways to make the most of lilac season.
- The Best and Worst Bargains at Costco – We love Costco. This was interesting, and I agree with most of these – especially #2!
- Do Headings Really Impact Rankings? SEO experts say headings are key to organic website traffic growth. Here are some interesting findings by Neil Patel who did a controlled study to test just that.
- Michael and I have been reading this book called Unconditional Parenting by Alfie Kohn. Wow. It’s unpacking everything we thought we knew about parenting. A powerful read if you have littles.
- Apparently, this casserole dish is the bestselling one on Amazon right now. I don’t have it, but as much as I love one-post pasta, it may have to make its way into my kitchen. Check out the full article by the Kitchn.
- Haven’t been shopping in a while? Here’s a roundup of recipes that require just 3 ingredients.
- I made a cake for a client last week and pulled out my cake turntable for the first time in a while. I forgot how much I love it.
- Speaking of gadgets, I bought this phone holder last week, and it’s come in so handy to show you more of what I make in the kitchen.
- I’ve had a baking crush on cruffins for the longest time. I finally made them using this recipe. Let’s just say this is a crush that won’t be going away anytime soon.
Cheers to the weekend, you lovelies!
